In Apulian dialect Li Filitti means “the rows” and it’s from the best bunches of Primitivo grape grown as bush vine. Intense bright ruby red, smells of wild berries and plum jam, red currant flower, dry violet, spices, on a bottom of graphite and cocoa powder. Smooth, full bodied, fruity and spicy, well balanced, and unbelievably persistent.

A fine example of this southern Italian native, which can often be clumsy and unbalanced in the wrong hands. Masca del Tacco do a fine job with this selection , with full-on chocolate and herby black fruit character coupled with a deft use of oak and sufficient acidity to keep everything in balance. An equivalent California Zin would cost twice as much. 4*
